“Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

- Luke 6:38

A message from our Director…

Greetings, Coalition of Churches in Prison Ministry (CoCiPM),

Happy Independence Day!

I hope all have a marvelous and magnificent holiday weekend. Happy birthday, America, for 249 years of existance. America is called the “land of the free” and has opportunities to be whatever you set your mind to be. A country that claims to trust in God. In 1954, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add “under God.” Now the pledge reads, One Nation under God. The entire Pledge of Allegiance states:

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,

and to the republic for which we stand,

one nation under God,

indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

These words are America’s rallying pledge, yet we know this country has had its share of tragedy and drama throughout the centuries with holding true to this statement. Currently, Americans continue to face difficult times. Unfortunately, this won’t be the last of our troubles, trials, and tribulations, because the Bible tells us that in this world we will face trouble. According to John 16:33, I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

This is why we, the saints, need to stick with our 2025 Theme of “Redeem the Time.” We need to tell non-believers and believers alike that true independence, liberty, and freedom are in Christ Jesus. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” True freedom is in the Spirit of the Lord. If we are going to be free; and free indeed, we must accept the Lord Christ Jesus as our Savior and that the Spirit set us free. This verse also informs us that our Lord and the Spirit are one and the same.

No Lord, no liberty, and no Spirit, no liberty.

We, as the household of faith, will have trouble in this world. Yet, we still have peace of our Lord Christ Jesus, who is the peace. With His peace we have liberty now and forevermore!

Let’s get the message of our resurrected Jesus and what He did for us out so people can have real freedom in our Lord!

Peace and Love,

Lee Brodie
